Relationships and Sex Education (RSE) is a subject which falls under the wider umbrella of Personal, Social, Health and Economic (PSHE) education. RSE strives to offer children the information and skills needed to make informed choices about their wellbeing, health and relationships throughout their life.

Scoill yn Jubilee is using the RSE advisory curriculum which was created to support schools in their delivery of RSE. The curriculum is based on Scotland's RSHP national resource, but also includes resources from the PSHE Association, Childnet, Public Health England, and the NSPCC. The advisory curriculum runs from reception through year 11 and provides schools with guidance and resources to deliver their lessons in line with best practices and current research. RSE lessons are divided into different 'blocks' each with its own themes and learning intentions.

Because RSE is not statutory, each school can use the advisory curriculum in a flexible way to meet the needs of their students.

RSE lessons will only be taught by the class teacher, and on some occasions with support from Mrs Nelson.

Below you will find the Theme and Intended Learning Outcomes for each year group that have been prepared by our staff. Please take time to look at them.
